OCEAN’s efforts pay off for saltwater anglers
Oregon Coalition for Educating ANglers (OCEAN) educates and enables marine anglers to be better stewards of ocean resources. OCEAN works closely with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW); particularly the Department’s Restoration and Enhancement Program.
ODFW reports that our efforts are paying off. A recent survey indicates that 70% of anglers interviewed reported using barotrauma release devices – extending the fishing seasons for rockfish. This trend is expected to continue with even greater success in the future. OCEAN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
